Elektra B. Yao is a multi-award-winning immigration and entertainment lawyer and the founder of Yao Law Group, a New York City‑based firm dedicated to serving international and U.S.‑based artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs. She specializes in securing artist visas (O‑1/B), EB‑1A green cards, P‑visas, NIWs, tech/start‑up visas (O‑1A), as well as handling trademarks, contracts, and deal structuring for clients in creative industries. Fluent in French, Italian, and Spanish, Elektra has lived, studied, and worked across the United States, Europe, and Africa, enabling her to serve a global clientele with deep cultural competence. Before entering the legal field, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from Marymount Manhattan College, where she also wrote, directed, and produced two documentaries that screened in Texas and New York City. She gained early professional experience working for MTV, The Style Network, and various film and television production companies.
